At the Enterprise Odisha 2021 event, Vedanta Aluminium Business, India's largest producer of aluminium and its value-added products, extended an invitation to aluminium makers to collaborate in its Aluminium Park project, which will be built in Jharsuguda, Odisha.

Vedanta Aluminium has teamed with Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) to establish the Vedanta Aluminium Park near its aluminium smelter in Jharsuguda, with the goal of 'Make in India for the World.' Vedanta Jharsuguda is one of the world's largest aluminium smelters, featuring some of the world's most advanced technologies for manufacturing high-quality aluminium. A location near an aluminium smelter where downstream firms set up their manufacturing facilities and draw hot metal from the smelter to make their end-product is known as an Aluminium Park.

Inviting aluminium producers are set to shop at the Vedanta Aluminium Park; Rahul Sharma, CEO - Aluminium Business, Vedanta Limited, stated, "Odisha is crowned as the aluminium capital of the country. With the objective to develop a thriving ecosystem of aluminium-based SMEs and MSMEs in Jharsuguda, Vedanta is committed to supply 3 lakh metric tonnes of aluminium to companies who set up their facilities in our Aluminium Park. The project brings with it three-fold benefit to the state - investments by MSMEs from across the country in the state, creation of large-scale employment opportunities for the local talent, and significant revenue in the form of taxes and duties for the state exchequer."

Water, power, hot metal supply, a dross processing plant, and other amenities will be available to enterprises establishing production units in the park. More crucially, the companies will have access to Vedanta's Jharsuguda smelter's Centre of Excellence and R & R&D Center for downstream aluminium products due to their proximity to Vedanta's Jharsuguda smelter.

Furthermore, having access to high-quality molten metal directly at their processing plants will dramatically cut input costs, resulting in cost-competitive end products that meet worldwide quality requirements. This strategy also assures that the entire value chain's carbon impact is significantly minimized.

The initiative is planned to bring over INR 2,000 crores in investments to Odisha and engage thousands of MSMEs in the ecosystem, generating additional economic value of INR 4,500 crores per year for the state. With a community outreach of more than 4 lakh, the park can offer over one lakh livelihood possibilities in the state.
